Instructions of use
Logon: Logon with your username and password.
Player Preference: This screen details your opponent, Phase, Turn and whether it’s your go or not. Once load is pressed it will take you to the gaming screen.
Gaming Before I go any further I need to say that playing online you need to trust your opponent, I.E. when they move there counters you won’t know how far they have moved, etc, etc. Because you’re not playing face to face and its turn based you have to be honest, IF YOU CHEAT, YOUR ONLY CHEATING YOURSELF. You can chat over MSN while playing and that is where you will roll your dice. You can get the dice roller HERE. None of the phases are automated, you play other people no computer A.I. is involed, and all the dice rolling is done through MSN Messenger using one of the downloadable scripts, this web site is far from perfect and is always being updated so if there are any bugs or suggestion please email me. DEPLOYMENT: The game is played like the table top game; you move your counters in the deployment phase deploying all your units then click the End Deployment button.
MOVEMENT: You can bring in reserves in this phase by clicking on the button that shows what squad is in reserve, the button will then disappear. After all reserves that you have rolled for have been clicked you need to click request reserves and the page will reload with the new units. You need to request reserves before you move any units. In the movement phase you move your counters like you would on the table top game, there is a box that appears above the character you’re moving and the movement is in inches. The only other option you have in the movement phase is to rotate the relevant units. Once you have finished you can click End Phase.
SHOOTING: In the shooting phase use the options that appear when you place the mouse over the unit to use, the blast plates, flame template(which can be rotated), and the target icon. Use the target icon to find the range from you to the target by dragging the target icon and placing it over the centre of the target unit. You can chat to your opponent over MSN and then roll the dice for shooting like you would on the table top game. If there are any casualty’s they can be removed by your opponent when they logon. There screen will show the battle field and when they move the mouse over their units the option to remove casualties will appear. Once you have shot with all the units you wish to shoot with and moved any units that can move in the shooting phase, you can then click End Phase.
ASSAULT: In the assault phase you can move your units as normal and once you have moved you can place your mouse over the unit and the assault option will appear, click this to get the assault icon. Use the assault icon in the same way as the target icon, then use MSN and the dice roller to do battle; once assault is resolved your opponent can then remove casualties. Click End Phase when you have finished.
Once all phases have been done it will return you to the movement phase, but this time it will be your opponents go and you won’t be able to do anything in this screen but remove your casualties. Your opponent will go through their go chatting to you via MSN and rolling dice between the two of you and any casualties you suffer you can remove using the link when you place the mouse over the unit in question. Once your opponent has finished there go and let you know, you can just refresh the page and it will become your go and you can then begin your turn.
Things in the pipeline: Using transports. Displaying weapons each individual has. Line of sight option. Maybe automated shooting and assault. Terrain builder. Army list builder. Registration of users. |
