Meeting called to order at 2:08

1. Emily Eisenhower was elected as the new SAGSA president. (Motion Dusan, Second Christine)

2. New TA policies will be discussed with Dr. Mahler on 2/23. Bring your comments.

3. Ricardo Pollo was elected as a Graduate representative with the Faculty (Motion Christine, Second Bri). Also we discussed the need to get the faculty meeting agenda ahead of time, so we can discuss it.

4. For Graduate representative concerned with electing the new faculty we elected Tricia Amisal (pending her acceptance) (Motion Ricardo, Second Dusan).

5. Voted on establishing the yahoo group for possible comments from the students that can not attend the meetings, but would still like to put in their comments (Motion: Dusan, Second Ricky). However, we did not vote on the actual voting system (for questions concerning the whole graduate student body).

6. We decided to join the function of secretary and communication manager. Need to see if Connie will take the increased responsibility (Motion Emily, Second Ricky).

7. We discussed the proposed improvements for the graduate room. Bri has the list, and it will be sent around. Need to develop a more precise budget. Also Dusan Ugrina will be attempting to get some funding from the Department and from FIU.

8. We voted that we should have the picnic on March 12 (Motion Dusan, Second Ricky).

9. For the event concerned with the funding (2/23/2005) we decided that the food will be brought individually (brown bag) (Motion: Christine, Second Dusan).

10. The IRB workshop will be held as our colloquia, but we are letting Dr. Martin to deal with it. The food and drinks will be pot luck, with Christine organizing it (Motion: Ricky, Second: Emily).

11. Next meeting is on 3/3/2005 – Thursday at 10 AM. (Motion: Ricky, Second Bri).
