SAGSA REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at: 2:10

AGENDA
Nov. 3rd Race, Poverty and Natural Disasters Colloquium
Dr. Gladwin and Dr. Morrow will give the presentations. There is the possibility of a change of room. A notification will be sent via e-mail. Emily E. and Jasney will be in charge of setting up the room and refreshments and Dusan, Christine W, and Elizabeth will help cleaning up.

Thank-you Notes
Jasney and Christine W are in charge of sending thank you notes to the presenters of the CV/Resume writing workshop.

Summer Opportunities Workshop

Holiday Party
We are still discussing the logistics and date of this event. We will like to have it the same day as the final presentations of proposals for Dr. Mahler class. In that case it could be either as a one-hour lunch or an evening event. 

SAGSA will sponsor the following event: “Family Bonding Summit” as suggested for Dr. Tafari and approved during this meeting by SAGSA members during today’s meeting. This event will be held on Friday, December 9 2005.
 
Advance Anthropological Theory
There are not offering any advanced theory courses next semester. Some graduate students will need it to finish their required courses. Emily E, Dusan and Jasney will talk to Dr. Goldin after the meeting to see if there is any possibility of having that class offered next semester.

Treasurer Report:
We need to update the website information. Overall, $310 have been spent thus, $250 are left, these are estimates. Some of this money will be used for refreshments (two more events) and for the Holiday Party.

Elections day will be November 15, 2005.

Reminders
Book Club – November 11 at 7pm, Tricia’s house
End of semester GSA report needs to be prepared, it is basically a list of activities completed this semester with the flyers and other relevant information.
